HARDY TRIPLE PURPOSE ICELANDIC SHEEP FOR SALE IN MONTANA

Birthing….

As I said before, we have a couple of (very) late babies this year but they were definitely worth waiting for.  Lukka lambed on the 3rd, adding a gorgeous white ewe lamb and a handsome black grey ram lamb to the flock.

For the brave here are some birth pictures…

Lukka and Dawn

She did great on the first lamb but we waited and waited for the second knowing she had to have twins.  I even thought to myself that we had a good year, no breech births.  Well I must have jinxed it because Lukka started pushing and pushing without much luck.  Mark checked her and felt little back feet presenting first.  He was able to pull like the dickens and get the little guy out and breathing without much effort.

The whole family.

At the beginning of the year while thinking up “D” names I thought it would be pretty neat to have a white ewe and a black ram and name them Dawn and Dusk.  So it was quite humorous that is what happened on one of the very last lambs!
